Just wanted to clear the air here and make sure there is no one left that believes Tim Couch sucks. Maybe he wasn't Peyton Manning, but he sure wasn't Ryan Leaf either. The Cleveland Brown offensive line is a joke. They're kind of like in-laws at the family reunion; they are there, but they might as well be home. It is hard to believe that after knowing that the o-line IS the problem since at least Couch's rookie season, there has been no improvement at all.
The casualties: Tim Couch Jeff Garcia Trent Dilfer Charlie Frye (hurt this year) Charlie Frye's backup (can't remember his name, I think he got hurt too)
and probably some more guys, but you get the picture. Some of these guys sucked, but some were good (Garcia is showing this now, Dilfer won a Super Bowl) and had no chance to prove it with such an awful offensive front. To borrow from Good Will Hunting; Tim Couch, "it's not your fault."

The Browns will never become a winning team as long as the Oline is continued to be inored as the real problem. The signs are there (high sack numbers, low run numbers from proven backs R Drones, and many incomplete passes even though they have good Wrs).

Great points... it's hard to believe that the problem could have lasted this long. It's like they've been using all these "rebuilding years" to build backwards, starting with skill players and paying no attention to the foundation. Oh well, they are the Bengals AFC North rivals, so maybe they should continue on their proven path.

I just can't wait to see if the browns have learned their lesson in the coming seasons. Seeing as they just drafted a very promising Qb in Brady Quinn. If they do destroy this Qb's career as they did Couch's they will finally be exposed to the world and maybe Couch's name can be cleared from the Bull (s )of being name one of the NFL's Biggest Draft BUSTS. That is what burns me up, the fact that Couch's career ended because everyone lost confidence in him over a teams poor judgement.

Good point xfactor, but the man is back! Tim Couch is now a Jacksonville Jaguar, so hopefully he'll get a chance to play after Leftwich goes down again (it'll happen.)

This just in: Tim Couch is out of the NFL once again. www.nfl.com/trainingcamp/story?id=09000d5d80194991&template=without-video&confirm=true News Main E-mail Posted: 6 hours 50 minutes ago Jacksonville releases former top pick Couch, signs PayneAssociated Press JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tim Couch's return to the NFL lasted nearly three weeks. The Jacksonville Jaguars released the former top overall draft pick on Saturday after a handful of practices and one preseason game. Couch, the No. 1 overall pick by Cleveland in 1999, hadn't played in the NFL since the 2004 preseason. Al Messerschmidt / Getty Images Tim Couch's brief stint with the Jaguars included an appearance in the team's first preseason game. Couch, who has 59 career starts, wanted a chance to revive his career following two shoulder operations. The Jags signed him to a two-year deal on July 29, but Couch failed to make an impression in training camp. He was 2-of-4 passing for 11 yards last week at Miami and was sacked twice. Couch also missed practice this week with a sore back. The Jags also placed guard/tackle Stockar McDougle (Achilles' tendon) on injured reserve, and signed 11-year veteran defensive tackle Seth Payne and defensive end Tyler King. McDougle ruptured his left Achilles' tendon during a practice on Aug. 13. Payne makes his return to Jacksonville, where he played five seasons from 1997-2001, after spending the last five seasons in Houston. He was on injured reserve most of last year with a knee injury. He has 617 career tackles with 17.5 sacks. King spent last season on practice squads in St. Louis and San Diego Chargers. He spent 2005 on Arizona's practice squad.
