Giants Interested in QB Anthony Wright: According to The NFL Network and The New York Post, unrestricted free agent QB Anthony Wright (Cincinnati Bengals) is scheduled to visit the Giants. The Post says Wright will visit this week.
The Giants are also reportedly interested in unrestricted free agent QB Jay Fiedler (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), but The Star-Ledger reported yesterday that Fiedler is not yet scheduled to visit the team.
Umm, what? Why would NY need another backup QB when they already have TWO? Number one, J-Lo should be the starter, then you've got a decent backup in Eli and Tim Hasselbeck. Number two, as a Bengals fan, I know Anthony Wright SUCKS. Number three.... what? NY, you cannot be serious about this. Lorenzen is indestructible; don't worry about it.
Hay I'm not worried about A Wright. Any one who's ever watched him start for the ravens would know that he is just a Glorified career backup that only got to start because the Ravens coaching staff didn't want to start K Bolyer.
A Wright is only with the Giants as a safety net Qb in case Lorenzen can't cut it as the starter in the event of an injury to Eli.
IN OTHER WORDS MATT HASELBECK SUCKS AS A 3rd QB option and makes the coaches look like they aren't doing their job of covering all the bases. They signed a vet. QB that can win if Lorenzen can't. So now they can start Lorenzen with out fear of his inexprence and pull him if he's not ready.
The signing of A Wright is a great thing. All the media expect Wright to be the #2Qb and when Lorenzen beats him out for the 2 spot it will solidify his standings in the NFL for years to come. That giving him the chance to start some where in the future like Matt Schnabb.
